Friedrich August hut: a menu with surprises in store
At our high-altitude restaurant, the character of our hut and its host family are reflected in the cuisine, with great attention to detail, careful selection of high-quality products, and a touch of originality and innovation. We serve dishes created from the organic beef from our Highland cattle farm, an ever-evolving selection of antipasti and first courses, and much more. And of course, you’ll also adore our desserts inspired by Ladin and South Tyrolean tradition.
IN WINTER
- Our pizza baked in a wood-fired oven
- Lunch at our hut, directly on the ski slopes
- Dinner with panoramic snowcat transfer twice a week (advance booking required)
For dinner (which can be booked for 7 p.m.), you can leave your car in our car park near the Carlo Valentini hut, and we’ll pick you up from there in our snowcat. We’ll welcome you with mulled wine (or a non-alcoholic hot drink), which you can enjoy at our tables with brazier and warm up before your à la carte dinner. In winter, breakfast is served from 8.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
For lunch (which can be booked online or by phone), the kitchen is open from 11.15 a.m. to 3.45 p.m. every day.

For dinner (which can be booked for 7 p.m.), you can reach us directly by car on the private road from Passo Sella/Sellajoch pass. For breakfast and lunch, you can easily reach us on foot.
There’s no need to book for breakfast (from 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.). For lunch, the kitchen is open from 11.15 a.m. to 3.45 p.m. every day, and you can book a table at 12 noon or at 2 p.m.

In summer, it is possible to book a table for both lunch and dinner.
Lunch: 12 noon to 2 p.m. or 2 p.m.
Dinner: every Wednesday and Saturday at 7 p.m.
In winter, it is possible to book a table for both lunch and dinner
Lunch: from 11.15 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Dinner: from 7 p.m. | From 5 December to 7 January: every evening except for New Year’s Eve | From 7 January to 6 April: every Wednesday and Saturday
Reservations must be made at least 24 HOURS in advance and are only considered confirmed after a positive response from the hut. It is always possible to book by phone.
